Hotel Services Manager | Cambridge Lea Hospital | Full Time | 37.5 | Permanent
We have an opportunity for a Hotel Services Manager to join their team of staff in the Hotel Services department at Spire Cambridge Lea Hospital.
This is a Full-time role for 37.5 hours a week. The role holder will be required to cover a flexible shift pattern.
The Hotel Services Manager will play an active role within the Hospital Management Team, attending key meetings, contributing to the delivery of the Hospital strategy within the non-clinical teams, controlling budgets (including staff costs) and ensuing all policies and protocols are followed.
Duties And Responsibilities
- To lead, drive, develop and manage hard-working teams to deliver a customer focused, five star experience to all Patients, Consultants and Colleagues at the hospital and to ensure the environment is maintained to a high standard.
- To recruit, retain and manage the staff within Kitchen, Pantry, Housekeeping, Portering and General Supplies teams.
- Responsible for managing local and group wide relevant contracts including vehicle management, printers, laundry, grounds maintenance, coffee services, security and external cleaning providers (where applicable) etc
- Ensure that all legislative regulations regarding food safety and hygiene, licensing, health & safety, risk management, IPC and waste are complied with
- To improve and maintain the standard of services for all including food quality, hygiene standards and customer service which are measured through patient, consultant and staff feedback.
- To ensure that all staff are adequately trained to provide the highest possible standards and ensuring Enabling Excellence objectives and Development Plans are carried out
- To work closely with the Infection Prevention and Control Lead to ensure high standards of cleanliness and hygiene are demonstrated in all areas of the hospital
- To ensure effective control of sickness and absence management
- To ensure effective day to day control of all staffing rosters and costs
- To ensure effective and economic control of all food and stock items purchased, whilst maintaining high standards of service
- To ensure effective and economic control of all laundry items, whilst maintaining high standards of service
- To comply with audits, actions recommendations of the company, including overseeing daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly audits
- To ensure all complaints are dealt with efficiently and effectively

- Previous strong people management experience
- Experience of managing a budget
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Flexible working to ensure oversight of all areas of responsibility
- A proactive, enthusiastic, self-starter with the ability to work on own initiative without supervision
- Good organisational and prioritisation skills and the ability to work to deadlines
- Flexibility and adaptability to tasks and duties
- Balanced approach between being hands on when required and an ability to delegate
- A desire to coach and mentor direct reports with succession and career planning in mind
- A problem solving approach and a leader of change
- A professional attitude with a concern for quality and customer service
