An exciting opportunity has arisen for a house keeper on Vickers 4 ward, which is a 27 bedded diabetes ward.
This role is important as it involves keeping the environment clean and tidy and clutter free
The successful candidate should have good personal skills as they will have continuous interactions with patients.
They should have good organisational skills, take pride in their work and maintaining high standards of cleanliness
Assist in monitoring and maintaining cleaning standards on the ward and report to the Senior Sister/Charge Nurse and Matron on the level of cleanliness in the area
Participate in environmental monitoring and inspections
Spot cleaning i.e. ensure spillage’s including body fluids are dealt with swiftly and efficiently in accordance with Trust policies
By working with, and following guidance from the nursing team, ensure equipment (both clinical and non-clinical) is in a clean condition and available for immediate use
Upkeep of ward appearance i.e. removing clutter, tidy notice boards, attend to storage requirements, signage, tidy nurse stations etc.
Ensure bed areas are clean and prepared for new patients
Care of patients lockers and bed areas
Assist patients with meal choices as directed by the Nurse in Charge
Assist with the setting of tables, serving of meals, cleaning crockery, replenishing water jugs
