Rightsize Housing Officer
Office Location: Harvey Road (NG8)
Contract Type: Fixed-term until 31 March 2027 with potential for extension
Working Hours: 37 hours per week, MondayFriday, with flexible and agile working options
Worker Type:Hybrid Worker - working time will be split between your work base and working remotely in agreement with the Line Manager.
Salary: Grade F £31,586 (Level 1) to £34,314 (Level 4) plus pay award pending
At Nottingham City Council Housing Services, were looking for a motivated and knowledgeable Rightsize Officer to join our specialist team. In this rewarding role, youll work directly with tenants to help them move to homes that better fit their circumstances whether theyre under-occupying or facing overcrowding.
If you are passionate about social housing, supporting tenants to live in homes that meet their needs, and you have experience in a housing management environment, (eg tenant support or allocations), then wed truly love to hear from you!

What Youll Be Doing
- Proactively supporting tenants who need to move to smaller or larger homes.
- Matching tenants to suitable properties and guiding them through the move process.
- Offering practical and emotional support and where needed, financial help to assist with the transition.
- Working collaboratively with partners across the council, community, and housing sectors to ensure a smooth customer journey.
About You
Were looking for someone with:
- Relevant experience working in housing management or a related field.
- An understanding of Allocations, Tenancy Management, and Welfare Benefits.
- A collaborative approach, with a track record of partnership working.
- A personal commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion in all that you do.
- The ability to stay calm under pressure and make confident, timely decisions in complex situations.
- Excellent organisation and time management skills, with the initiative to work independently.
