About The Role
Balfour Beatty has an exciting opportunity for a HR Business Partner to join our growing team.
This role can be based from ether Suffolk or London - some travel is required
What you'll be doing
Align the HR agenda with delivery section goals
- Partner with the project delivery leadership team to understand project priorities and milestones
- Use HR metrics (e.g., staff turnover, engagement scores, performance ratings, etc) to identify trends and inform decision
- Support change and transformation initiatives with tailored HR interventions (e.g. restructuring, culture change programmes)
Lead on mobilising resource to ensure project teams are adequality sourced
- Ensure organisational charts are accurate and align with the HR database
- Empower recruitment partner with line managers to aid timely recruitment
- Support the recruitment of Early Careers into the project (Apprentice, Graduate, Industrial placement)
- Support internal mobility with parent companies to retain skillset
- Be the gatekeeper for total renumeration packages
Build and lead a high-performing HR team
- Provide coaching and mentoring to HR team members by conducting regular one-to-one meetings and complete performance reviews
- Offer expert advice on complex employee relations cases
- Lead initiatives that boost employee engagement and reinforce the project culture
- Ensure consistent application of the project HR policies and procedures
Ensure the project has the right talent now and, in the future,
- Facilitate workforce planning sessions with project leaders
- Lead succession planning and talent reviews to identify and develop future talent
- Support managers with creating development plans for high-potential employees
Drive a culture of high performance
- Build strong, trusting relationships with senior business leaders, becoming a trusted advisor on workforce and culture-related issues
- Stay up to date on employment law changes and ensure these are built into policy updates
- Partner with Centres of Excellence (e.g. L&D, ER) for specialised support.
- Provide guidance on policy interpretation and application
- Use data to drive decisions and anticipate challenges
- Maintain accurate HR data in both project and parent company systems
- Produce regular reports and dashboards for key stakeholders
- Use insights to propose people solutions and manage the implementation
Who we're looking for
- Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, or related field (Masters preferred)
- CIPD qualification or equivalent
- Proven experience in an HRBP or generalist HR role
- Strategic thinking and business acumen
- Strong interpersonal and influencing skills
- Analytical mindset with experience using HR metrics
- Problem-solving and conflict resolution
- Confidentiality and ethical judgment
- Experience in a fast-paced, matrixed organisation
- Knowledge of employment law and HR best practices
