Job Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified HR professional to support the delivery of the Corporate Services/ Group Workforce Programme for UHBW and NBT.

The post holder will be the Programme Lead for the programme on behalf of the Interim Trust Directors of People for UHBW and NBT with responsibility for developing a methodical and structured approach to the project, with oversight of the various programmes of work and delivery of the plan. The successful candidate will be expected to provide strong leadership, displaying excellent communication skills, providing motivation and reassurance across the programme by engaging staff in decision making and facilitating effective team working.

Main duties of the job

The main role responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • To act as the programme lead for the Group Workforce Programme. Overseeing the development of work packages, business cases and strategic project plans.
  • To assist with the development of a detailed project plans, monitoring delivery, and the full delivery of the key HR priorities required to support the Group Workforce Programme, as they are agreed.
  • Collection, expert analysis, synthesis, presentation and dissemination of complex information, where there may be significant barriers to understanding, in order to facilitate timely decision making by Programme and Trust Board/Director members.
  • Work closely with the HRBPs and Associate Directors of People and the wider team in consistently supporting the implementation of the Group Workforce Programme and group model outcomes.
  • Ensure the work activities of others deliver on the overall objectives of the work programme, in particular the development of strategies and programmes of work to develop productive relationships other key stakeholders and build credibility.
  • To be a key member of the Group Workforce Programme team, contributing to the wider requirements of the programme and act as an HR expert within the programme.

Essential criteria

  • CIPD Recognised qualification/Masters in HRM
  • Post Graduate Management Qualification/MBA

Desirable criteria

  • Recognised Project Management qualification

Knowledge and Experience

Essential criteria

  • Experience of working at senior management team level and working in senior HR roles
  • Experience of interpreting and the practical application of national and legal policies and procedures appertaining to HR
  • Proven experience to lead, plan, manage and deliver projects
  • Knowledge of the current HR agenda in the NHS, healthcare reforms and how this supports service provision, performance and improvement
  • Change management experience particularly associated with mergers and acquisitions
  • Team working and the ability to effectively work in partnership
  • Experience of working in a disciplined governance environment
  • Clear understanding and experience of Budget Management and efficiency responsibilities
  • Expert analysis of complex data and reports and interpretation of statistical data (including financial) to inform integration and service re-design
  • Proven experience to lead, plan, manage and deliver projects

  • Political astuteness: the ability to read situations well and quickly understand where influence lies, responding professionally and effectively
  • Ability to work under pressure, with clear and decisive judgement capabilities
  • Ability to move easily from the strategic overview to a level of significant operational detail
  • Report writing for a range of purposes including Trust Board/APC & Corporate Services Board
  • Clear analytical skills, ability to present complex information and a pragmatic approach to problem solving
