The organisation extends specialised support and services from four strategically located hubs, facilitating operations across groups of countries and locations where workforce is present. This position is based in Maroochydore, Australia.
Job Overview
The HR Manager will report to the Head of HR, serving as a mission-minded leader for CV’s workforce, helping to equip and guide staff while leading the delivery of HR support and services within their designated hub, ensuring high-quality provision to local offices, aligned with global standards and biblical principles, upholding the organisation’s evangelistic mission.
The HR Manager also plays a key role in embedding the global HR Operating Model and leveraging the HRIS system to deliver streamlined, compliant, and mission-aligned HR support under the leadership of the Head of HR.
Specific Responsibilities
- Be the first point of contact for HR operational matters, providing support to the connected locations of the hub, ensuring consistent application of policies, procedures, and best practices, which are integral to our mission of spreading the gospel globally, in a manner aligned to CV’s Mission, values and biblical practice.
- Oversee onboarding, probation, appraisal, and offboarding processes, supporting job role documentation, performance reviews, and local benefits administration.
- Coordinate payroll inputs and processing via the HRIS system, providing support for time-off and absence management.
- Champion and support the use of the HRIS for onboarding, appraisals, leave tracking, and reporting, maintaining data accuracy and integrity within the system.
- Ensure hub compliance with local employment laws, safeguarding practices, and organisational policies, supporting policy and process maintenance and development work as guided by the Head of HR.
- Act as the safeguarding officer for the designated hub, exercising spiritual discernment to ensure staff conduct and organisational culture aligns with biblical standards.
- Support legal and regulatory audits as required.
- As part of a global team, you will occasionally be required to collaborate across time zones, which may require out-of-hours availability.
- Work with other HR managers under the guidance and direction of the Head of HR to develop best practices.
- Support resource deployment decisions in collaboration with functional and operational leads.
- Provide timely reporting on HR metrics, risks, and local developments.
- Support cross-hub HR projects.
- Provide spiritual leadership to the hub in regular prayer times, devotionals and biblical reflection, ensuring that all HR functions are conducted within a framework of Christian discipleship and mission.
- Ensure that workforce development and HR policies explicitly reflect CV’s Christian ethos, including promotion a workplace culture that models Christian values, accountability to Scripture, and active participation in CV’s evangelistic mission.
- Facilitate conflict resolution using biblical reconciliation models, ensuring that interpersonal and organisational challenges are addressed in a manner consistent with Christian teaching.

Skills / Experience / Qualifications
- HR practices must foster a workforce committed to Christian discipleship, biblical accountability, and active participation in CV’s mission.
- Relevant Professional HR qualification, such as CIPD Level 5 or equivalent regional accreditation.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in an HR generalist or operational role, preferably in a multi-site or international setting.
- Strong knowledge of local employment law and HR compliance practices.
- Practical experience using HRIS platforms (e.g. SuitePeople, BambooHR, Workday).
- Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to support distributed teams and manage multiple priorities.
- High levels of confidentiality, integrity, and sound judgment.
- Competent in digital tools, including Microsoft Office or Google Workspace.
- Experience in the charity, faith-based, or mission sector is desirable.
- Demonstrates servant leadership, humility, and a commitment to CV’s evangelistic mission and values.
- There is a Genuine Occupational Requirement (GOR) for this role to be filled by a practising Christian in full agreement with the CV Statement of Faith, actively involved in a local church or Christian community. The role requires the incumbent to lead staff in prayer and devotionals, exercise spiritual discernment in recruitment and performance management, and ensure that HR systems and policies actively advance CV’s Christian mission of evangelism and discipleship. This cannot be performed by someone who does not share and practise CV’s faith commitments.
