Step into a pivotal role within our Central HSE Leadership team, where your expertise will significantly impact the Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) practices across our organization.
Site based location at Pilgrims Europe operational facility or office location Uxbridge, Grantham or Rushmere.
As the HSE Risk Lead, you will work in a direct supporting role within the Central HSE Leadership structure:, improving site engagement, corrective action management and improvements all Pilgrims Europe. As a member of the Central HSE Leadership team your role will include Hands on engagement, review of facilities, inspections, trouble shooting, project support.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage and support HSE best practice through all functions utilising the Central Leadership strategy and enhance the site HSE teams to create improved and safe facilities.
- Ensure that each operational function within the Fresh BUs is aligned and working towards the Pilgrim’S Europe Central HSE strategy and is engaging with any standards, processes or systems. (GFZ, QUOR, Sharepoints, ISO etc.)
- Support the development and skill levels in the HSE team and operational function.
- Communicate effectively with key internal & external stakeholders; Central HSE Function, HSE Site Management Teams, Procurement, Operations, Engineering, Technical, OPEX, Legal etc. on risks, issues and key changes required in reference to HSE standards, Legal compliance, systems implementations etc.
- Enhance the Fresh BUs integration of Safety managements standards and systems in line with the Central structure.
- Use data analysis to make problems visible, quantifiable and to guide decisions.
- Ensure HSE management systems are optimised and support in driving positive change and improve safety culture across the business.
- Support in the setting of site standards, raise standards, and confirm standard work across safety, environmental, and legal compliance.
Key Deliverables
- Drive Excellent standards through management and reduction of HSE KPIs
- Leadership, guidance, and support for HSE across Fresh BUs.
- Reduction of overall incidents and regulatory intervention (SA, LTA, total accidents, EL claims, Environmental Incidents, Regulatory Intervention)
- Roll out of Go For Zero Strategy with Central HSE function
- Provision of communication and campaigns in line with GFZ strategy.
- Roll out, and adherence to Central HSE standards and ways of working and performance systems/tools.
Skills & Knowledge
- Experience in a FMCG Industry, within a HSE role.
- Experience in improving standards and driving corrective action processes.
- Knowledge of Management systems both internal and external (ISO, internal software etc.)
- Understanding of Audit standards and the ability to influence change through positive engagement.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to influence at all levels of site, across PEuro, external authorities and wider business leadership.
- Strong analytical & problem-solving skills.
- Natural coaching ability.
- Nebosh General Certificate, Level 3, equivalent qualification or experience level.
- IEMA Environmental Management Certificate or equivalent qualification.
- Strong Computer Skills
