We are currently working in partnership with an Educational Institution who have multiple sites covering Hertfordshire and West/South London. They are recruiting for a HR Business Partner on a temporary contract that will be extended to permanent. The position is due to start in the new year. The annual salary being offered for this role will be in line with £49,764 to £52,805 per annum.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience working within an educational institution and having the ability to liaise with senior stakeholders, advising them and staff on all employee relations cases, change processes and recruitment
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
- Coaching, supporting and mentoring senior leaders on people management practices, issues and priorities, through development of close working relationships and understanding of business challenges and opportunities
- Providing expert advice to senior managers in complex employee relations cases ensuring alignment with the Trusts policies and procedures whilst directly supporting all elements of casework
- Working in partnership with Principals and the Executive Management team in providing expert guidance at all stages of the organisational change processes, advising on implications for the workforce, involving staff in change processes, formal requirements for consultation and supporting staff through the change process
- Advising managers in relation to the job evaluation process to enable them to write Job Descriptions and Person Specifications that adequately illustrate the requirements of the role and articulate the role requirements
- Designing and delivering HR training sessions as required to improve leadership awareness and capability on a range of issues and to support the roll-out of HR initiatives
- Leading on all payroll within the organisations
Experience required:
- Working in the Education sector, ideally schools, with a good understanding of the culture, structures, systems and processes typically found in this environment
- Advising managers on a wide range of employment and people management issues
- Supporting managers on the full range of complex employee relations cases, using employment and case law to advise and bring cases to a speedy resolution
- Supporting organisational change
- Running Apprenticeship schemes
- Working with Trade Union representatives
Skills, knowledge and expertise required:
- Up-to-date knowledge of employment and case law
- Proven ability to work flexibly under pressure, prioritise effectively and meet deadlines
- Strong analytical, strategic thinking and project management /planning skills
- Highest levels of integrity and probity and a commitment to highest levels of effort, endeavour and focus on standards
- Experience managing the payroll team
