HR Director - Interim
Location: London
Deliver the HR agenda for a multi-disciplinary construction and engineering business.
This is an opportunity to join a national contractor delivering complex, high-profile projects across infrastructure and the built environment. Operating in regulated settings and partnering with major clients, the organisation is known for technical rigour, a commitment to safety and a track record of delivery.
As Interim HR Director, you will be hands-on in shaping and delivering practical people solutions that support day-to-day operations. Reporting to the Board and leading a lean HR function, you will focus on ensuring HR activity translates into tangible outcomes across offices, sites and regional teams.
Key priorities include supporting attraction and retention for site-based roles, ensuring supervisors and managers are equipped to lead their teams, building clear and workable career pathways, and aligning workforce planning with operational requirements. You will position HR as a reliable, responsive partner and enhance engagement and performance across the workforce.
We are seeking an experienced HR leader who brings credibility and resilience, with a strong record of delivering HR operations in complex, operational environments. Sector experience in construction, engineering, infrastructure, utilities, manufacturing or similar would be highly relevant. Above all, you will be pragmatic, action-oriented and confident working at pace.
This interim role offers the chance to make an immediate impact within a well-established contractor entering its next phase of growth.
