Role: IAM DevOps Engineer

Location: 100% Remote (Ad hoc travel)

Duration: 8 months initially + Extension

IR35 Status: INSIDE IR35

Security Clearance: Active SC clearance required

We re seeking an experienced IAM Consultant/Lead to join a high-performing delivery team, supporting a major public sector end client via a leading IT consultancy. This role focuses on delivering robust Identity and Access Management (IAM) solutions to help reduce cyber risk, improve access governance, and support compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and configure IAM capabilities using SailPoint IdentityNow or IdentityIQ in a DevOps environment.
Integrate SailPoint with enterprise systems and services to automate user lifecycle management and access provisioning.
Build, enhance, and maintain secure IAM workflows, rules, connectors, and access control policies.
Collaborate with agile delivery teams to translate business requirements into IAM capabilities and scalable solutions.
Support and optimize the CI/CD pipeline, ensuring automated testing, deployment, and monitoring of IAM features and updates.
Contribute to DevSecOps practices, including hardened container builds, secure configurations, and continuous monitoring.
Provide technical guidance in architecture discussions, product selection, and roadmap planning for IAM solutions.

Essential Skills:

Strong hands-on experience with SailPoint IdentityNow or IdentityIQ.
Demonstrated ability to deliver IAM solutions in an Agile, DevOps-driven environment.
Solid understanding of Java, Beanshell scripting, REST APIs, and IAM data models.
Experience integrating IAM platforms into CI/CD pipelines and using Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).
Familiarity with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and secure cloud deployment practices.

Desirable Skills:

Agile certification or significant experience in agile delivery methodologies.
Understanding of SFIA-based skill levels and role maturity models.
Strong communication and documentation skills with proven stakeholder engagement capabilities.
Experience working in public sector or highly regulated environments (e.g., finance, healthcare, defense).

Note:

This role is INSIDE IR35.
Active SC Clearance is essential
