As an
Inside Sales Representative within 3M’s
Industrial Adhesives and Tapes Division (IATD), you will play a pivotal role in driving growth and delivering solutions that help our customers succeed across diverse industrial markets. Inside Sales at 3M is professional selling executed remotely-designed to be agile and responsive to customers’ changing needs. In this role, you will work alongside an experienced inside and field sales team, leveraging your curiosity and collaboration skills to connect innovative 3M solutions with real-world challenges.
Here, You Will Make An Impact By
- Owning and managing a sales pipeline from prospecting through close, meeting annual closed-won goals, and providing accurate forecasting.
- Identifying new growth opportunities and expanding sales across our market-leading adhesives and tapes portfolio.
- Collaborating closely with field sales, application engineering, and marketing teams to exceed sales and growth targets.
- Maintaining and growing existing business within a defined customer base.
- Supporting the execution of new product launches and targeted marketing campaigns to drive adoption and awareness.
- Managing incoming leads generated through marketing programs and ensuring structured follow-through with field and channel teams.
- Partnering with Channel Partner Inside Sales teams to equip, train, and support joint growth initiatives.
Your Skills And Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
- Proven track record in an Inside Sales role for 2+ years, with a demonstrated ability to sell remotely and use virtual tools to support the sales process.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related technical field; advanced sales training or certifications are a plus.
- Fluent English required.
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
- Experience in industrial or B2B sales, preferably supporting manufacturing or assembly markets.
- Familiarity with bonding, sealing, or surface-preparation applications using adhesives or tapes is viewed favorably.
- Strong analytical and presentation skills, with the ability to translate technical features into customer value.
- Proficiency with CRM tools such as Salesforce.com.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Proven ability to manage a sales pipeline, set priorities, and deliver results within defined timelines.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate across cross-functional and geographically distributed teams.
Job Specifics
- Work location - Bracknell, Berkshire / Manchester
- This role has on-site working model, with the employee working at least four days a week in the office.
- Travel expectations - Occasional travel (approx. once per month), typically accompanying a field salesperson on customer visits to support relationship building.
