Led by our new CISO, Yolande Young, the in-house Information Security team is a core part of our technology services structure with mature or evolving capability across all areas of digital security and cyber defence. We align our efforts to the NIST framework and other recognised certifications including ISO27001 and SOC2 and strive to keep pace with the continually evolving threat landscape, in support of A&O Shearman's strategy to lead where global complexity creates opportunity.
In addition, you will have the opportunity to share and gain intel from the firm's cybersecurity lawyers. The global team have experience advising clients on hundreds of incidents. Leveraging this experience, they feedback practical lessons learned into clients' cyber risk management and incident response programmes.
What you will do
IAM involves identity management, identity governance and administration, privileged access, and conditional access at A&O Shearman. This role requires a good understanding of IAM principles and technologies, as well as a willingness to learn and grow in the field of IAM. The Senior Analyst will work with other Digital Trust team members to ensure the security, compliance, and efficiency of access management processes and controls.
This will include:
IAM (including PAM) Tooling & Platform Management
Provide ongoing configuration, maintenance and testing for IAM technology solution(s) under the guidance of the IAM Engineer. Monitor IAM technology solution(s) for performance and security.
Define requirements and integrations to meet the IAM objectives including development of requirements and tests cases, assessments of systems/accounts for privileged access, and analysis of privileged activity.
Manage platform updates, releases, and enhancements, including conducting appropriate testing such as user acceptance testing (UAT) to ensure stability and functionality, based on design specifications and requirements. Resolve issues relating to the IAM technology solution(s).
Onboard new accounts to the privileged access solution and enforce controls.
Design and maintain workflows, dashboards, reports, and configurations within IAM tooling to support visibility and decision-making.
Develop and deliver training materials and presentations on identity and access management best practices. Provide ongoing support to end users.
IAM Processes and Controls
Contribute to the development, maintenance, and improvement of end-to-end IAM controls, access policies, process flows, procedural documentation, and operational playbooks.
Implement and perform access certification campaigns in accordance with IAM policies.
Perform changes required to privileged access when a mover, leaver, or suspension/termination event occurs.
Monitor privileged access activity and investigate suspicious behaviour.
Monitor and validate ongoing compliance with IAM security requirements.
Conduct regular analysis and reporting against KPIs and KRIs for IAM, supporting operational and executive reporting activities.
Champion identity and access management across the organisation and drive an evolved culture of risk awareness and mitigation.
Provide training and support to end users of IAM.
What you will have
Extensive experience working in IAM, across any combinations of disciplines such as identity governance and administration, privileged access management, conditional access, authentication.
Strong understanding of IAM principles, technologies, and best practices.
Experience with Microsoft Identity products.
Knowledge of security protocols, authentication methods, and authorisation frameworks.
Excellent problem-solving and technical troubleshooting skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams.
Communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve a common security mitigation goal.
A willingness to learn and develop both technically and personally in the role.
You will stand out if you bring
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
Experience with CyberArk.
Professional security certifications such as:
Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900)
Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
Certified Information Systems Manager (CISM)
Global Information Assurance Certification (GIAC)
