Immigration Solicitor

Role Overview

Law Lane Solicitors is seeking a dedicated and proactive Immigration Solicitor to join its expanding Immigration Department. The role offers the opportunity to manage a varied immigration caseload, provide high-quality legal advice, and work closely with clients in a supportive and professional environment. The position is suitable for solicitors with experience in appeals and Judicial Reviews and/or corporate and business immigration.

Key Responsibilities

General Responsibilities:

• Manage an allocated caseload of immigration matters from instruction to conclusion
• Provide accurate, timely, and practical immigration advice to clients
• Draft and review applications, representations, witness statements, and legal submissions
• Ensure compliance with Home Office rules, deadlines, and procedures
• Maintain accurate records on the firm’s case management system (LEAP)
• Deliver excellent client care in line with firm and SRA standards
• Comply with SRA Code of Conduct, AML, and data protection requirements

Appeals & Judicial Review (where applicable):

• Prepare and conduct appeals before the First-tier and Upper Tribunals
• Draft Grounds of Appeal and Judicial Review pleadings
• Conduct legal research and prepare skeleton arguments
• Liaise with Counsel and attend hearings where required

Corporate & Business Immigration (where applicable):

• Advise employers and individuals on UK business immigration matters
• Handle Sponsor Licence applications, compliance, and audits
• Manage Skilled Worker, Global Business Mobility, and related visa applications
• Support corporate clients with ongoing compliance and advisory work

Person Specification

Essential:

• Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales
• 1–3 years PQE in Immigration Law
• Experience managing immigration matters with minimal supervision
• Strong drafting, analytical, and advocacy skills
• Excellent communication and client-care skills
• Ability to manage deadlines and work under pressure

Desirable:

• Experience in either Appeals/JRs or Corporate Immigration (or both)
• Legal Aid experience (for appeals/JR role)

Experience using LEAP or similar case management systems

Business development or client relationship experience
