This benefice, comprising two churches, is seeking an Incumbent to lead them in mission and evangelism, prayer and service.
The benefice of Hillock and Unsworth comprises of two churches, St Andrew’s Hillock and St George’s Unsworth, in Bury and Rossendale Deanery, Diocese of Manchester and offers significant opportunities for mission and evangelism.
The new Incumbent will work with established ordained and lay colleagues across the benefice and there is a strong desire to grow in numbers and depth, as well as serve local communities.
St Andrew’s is an open evangelical congregation with strong local and community outreach in the estate where it is set. St George’s offers opportunities for more modern catholic worship and service in a more suburban setting.
We are looking for an Incumbent with the following qualities:
- A servant leader who can delegate and who can raise up and support lay and ordained leaders;
- A priest with a confident teaching and preaching ministry, who is comfortable leading different styles of worship and enjoys opportunities to be creative;
- A good communicator with excellent organisational skills, who is generous, thoughtful and able to lead change;
- A prayerful, warm and considered person who will encourage the congregation to pray both individually and corporately;
- An incumbent who would take an active and committed part in the Mission Community and the wider Deanery.
This benefice is at a key time in their ministry as they seek to discern their life and ministry individually, together and as part of Bury and Rossendale Mission Community.
