Join our growing Index Funds team as an Index Junior Analyst - Analytics and Technology, where you'll play a key role in developing and supporting in-house fund management tools that help our Fund Managers deliver outstanding results. This is a fantastic opportunity to work across multiple teams, build relationships, and contribute to innovative solutions that drive performance and efficiency, an exciting role offering exposure to many internal teams within L&G Asset Management



This will require you to have will have proven experience/knowledge of the programming language Python, and you'll thrive on automating processes and work proactively to problem solve issues for our clients

What you’ll be doing:

• Providing support on and carrying out development on in-house fund management tools including spreadsheets, databases, and SQL/VB/VBA-based programs
• Collaborating with Fund Managers and Senior Fund Managers to enhance fund management capabilities
• Participating in ad-hoc quantitative and qualitative research and preparing material for investment reports
• Analysing corporate actions and recommending appropriate responses
• Assisting with client servicing by responding to requests and preparing presentation materials
• Producing regular reports including fund holding, attribution, and risk reports
• Supporting analysis of portfolio breakdowns, transfers, index construction, and performance attribution
• Automating processes and proactively solving problems for internal stakeholders
  
  

Who we’re looking for:

• Previous experience of working within Investment Management or finance is preferable, however we will also consider candidates with proven programming skills from other industries
• Proven knowledge of Python or demonstrable experience with another coding language is essential
• A demonstrable knowledge of a variety of asset classes, with a focus on index preferable
• Experience of developing processes to improve/support client requests
• Have previously reviewed or evaluated index strategies, and/or previous experience in evaluating benchmarks.
• Strong investment and financial market knowledge
• Showing creativity in identifying issues and developing solutions
• Being proactive, curious, and eager to learn and grow
