About the Role


We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Industrial Leader to join our dynamic manufacturing engineering team. This pivotal role supports Design to Cost initiatives and the industrialisation of serial programmes, ensuring seamless integration between design, manufacturing, and supply chain operations.

As an Industrial Leader, you will act as the key interface between our UK-based engineering, tooling, and operations teams and our global supplier network. Your expertise will be instrumental in driving manufacturing excellence, cost efficiency, and continuous improvement across our product lifecycle.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manufacturing Expertise: Provide technical support to Airbus plants and suppliers, ensuring manufacturing capability and readiness.
  • Supplier Interface: Act as the primary liaison between the plant and suppliers for all series programme activities.
  • Transfer of Work: Lead or support supplier selection and industrialisation processes in accordance with business protocols.
  • Plant Disruption Management: Address and resolve technical issues affecting plant operations or supply continuity.
  • Design & Manufacturing Changes: Engage proactively in product development, applying concurrent engineering and industrialisation best practices.
  • Cost Optimisation: Analyse and influence cost drivers to identify and implement cost-saving opportunities.
  • Cross-Functional Integration: Collaborate across departments to manage risks and leverage opportunities effectively.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive standardisation and harmonisation of supplier processes, delivering measurable value to the business.


Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Proven experience in manufacturing engineering, preferably within aerospace or complex engineering environments.
  • Strong knowledge of metallic and/or composite manufacturing processes, including detail part and assembly manufacture.
  • Experience with tooling, condition of supply, and manufacturing specifications.
  • Skilled in supplier engagement, industrialisation, and cost-down initiatives.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across global teams and functions.
