Independent Non-Executive Director (INED) - Internal Audit
We're seeking an experienced Independent Non-Executive Director (INED) with a strong background in Internal Audit to join the board of our client, a boutique Retail Bank based in the City of London. This pivotal role requires approximately 30 days per year, which includes attendance at 7 Board meetings and 7 Audit Committee meetings.
About the Role:
As an INED, you'll play a crucial role in providing independent oversight and guidance, particularly in relation to our internal audit function. You'll contribute to robust governance, risk management, and internal control frameworks, ensuring the integrity and effectiveness of our operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide independent challenge and oversight of the internal audit function.
- Contribute to the strategic direction and effectiveness of the Board and Audit Committee.
- Review and challenge reports from Internal Audit, ensuring appropriate actions are taken.
- Advise on best practices in governance, risk, and control.
- Support the Board in fulfilling its fiduciary duties.
What We're Looking For:
- Extensive experience in Internal Audit, ideally holding or having held an SMF5 (Internal Audit Function Holder) designation.
- Deep understanding of retail banking product knowledge is essential.
- Proven ability to provide strategic insight and independent judgment at a Board level.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Remuneration:
This role offers a salary of £35,000 per annum.
