Information Governance Officer

We are currently partnering with a Local Authority in the Greater Manchester area, who are recruiting for an Information Governance Officer to join their team on an initial 3 month locum basis.

This is a full-time position with a flexible hourly rate (circa £19 - £24 p/hour via an Umbrella company), and they're looking for someone to start as soon as possible.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

• Supporting and delivering the day-to-day requirements of Information Governance throughout the Council, ensuring there is robust information governance compliance in place at all times
• Promoting adherence to the Information Governance framework amongst staff across the organisation, through distribution of information regarding the framework
• Coordinating requests received for information under the provisions of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and ensuring that full compliance with Freedom of Information Legislation is adhered to, including appropriate timescales
• Maintaining an accurate and up to date database of requests and enquiries including details of any disclosures, refusals, fees, advice and guidance and ensuring that the information requests database is up to date
• Providing advice, guidance and interpretation on matters relating to Information Governance

Requirements:

• Experience required within Information Governance, specifically dealing with SARs and FOI requests
• Experience within a Local Authority desirable

Working hours:

• 37 hours per week
• Monday – Friday
