Job Purpose

NHS Lanarkshire is seeking an experienced Information Security Manager to lead and shape our cyber and information security policies, guidance and procedures. This is a pivotal role within our Digital Directorate, responsible for safeguarding our digital estate, ensuring compliance with national standards, and providing expert guidance across the organisation.

The postholder will collaborate with partner organisations/agencies on a range of complex and sensitive security issues, providing expert specialist advice on Information and Cyber Security to other Digital/IT professionals, clinicians, senior managers and all staff in NHS Lanarkshire.

Additional Information Specific to the Role

Lead the implementation and maintenance of cyber resilience frameworks and ensure compliance with Network and Information Security (NIS) regulations and NCSC Cyber Assessment Framework (CAF).
Monitor emerging cyber threats and vulnerabilities and develop robust risk management programmes.

Investigate and respond to cyber and information security incidents, collaborating with law enforcement and partner agencies.

Develop, review, and implement information security policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with ISO27001 controls and ensure policies and procedures follow ISO27002.

Active engagement with the Cyber Security Group, supporting governance across Digital and the wider NHSL business, incident readiness assessments, and the ongoing reporting of NHS Lanarkshire’s cyber resilience and security posture.

Review and contribute to the creation of Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIA), System Security Policies (SSP) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).

Ensure IT assets, suppliers, and contracts meet required security standards.

Provide specialist advice and support to managers and staff on cyber and information security.

Lead the development and maintenance of the Cyber Incident Response Plan.

Support business case development for security products and services.
