Role: IT Security Engineer
Location: West Midlands
Salary: £55,000 + Benefits
I’m looking for an experienced IT Security Engineer to join an IT Security Team within Infrastructure and Services. You’ll need at least 5 years of engineering-level experience, with strong skills in Microsoft Azure, network infrastructure, and endpoint security.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and manage secure IT network and cloud infrastructure.
- Investigate and resolve security incidents.
- Perform regular security assessments and audits.
- Maintain and update security policies, procedures, and documentation.
- Provide technical guidance on security issues across IT teams.
- Stay up to date on security trends and technologies.
- Ensure compliance with relevant security standards.
- Participate in security testing and incident response exercises.
Skills & Experience
- 5+ years in IT security engineering.
- Expertise with Microsoft 365 security and Conditional Access.
- Strong understanding of Azure security tools (e.g., Security Center, Entra ID, Key Vault, NSGs).
- Network security knowledge (firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS).
- Experience with SIEM tools (ideally Exabeam).
- Endpoint security (Microsoft Defender, XDR).
- Scripting skills (PowerShell, KQL, Python).
- Familiarity with compliance standards in cloud environments.
Qualifications
- Preferred certifications: CISSP, CISM, CCSP, AZ-500.
- Degree in Computer Science or related field (preferred).
