Infrastructure Consultant – Infrastructure Monitoring Discovery & Transformation

We are urgently seeking an experienced Monitoring Consultant to lead the discovery and due diligence phase of a large-scale infrastructure monitoring transformation. This is a strategic role at the start of a significant IT transition, focused on assessing and preparing to modernise a complex, bespoke monitoring landscape built predominantly on Microsoft technologies, including SCOM and other tools.

Your primary responsibility will be to deliver a comprehensive assessment of the current monitoring environment, covering infrastructure, server, log, and application performance monitoring. You'll engage with technical teams, operational support, and business stakeholders to capture undocumented knowledge and provide clear, actionable documentation of the current state.

This discovery work will shape the roadmap for implementing a new monitoring solution, with Dynatrace selected as the future platform. Your findings and recommendations will directly influence how the monitoring environment evolves, helping define how the existing setup is decommissioned and replaced.

The ideal candidate will have a strong infrastructure background and deep understanding of Microsoft SCOM, along with experience working across a mixed stack of commercial and open-source monitoring tools. This is a functional consultant role; while you won’t be hands-on, you’ll need the technical fluency to understand how everything fits together and provide high-quality insight.
