IT Infrastructure Technician to join our dedicated IT team. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the design, maintenance, and evolution of the councilâs IT infrastructureâensuring our systems are secure, resilient, and fit for the future.
đ§ Main Purpose of the Role
To provide hands-on support for the councilâs IT infrastructure, assisting in the delivery and maintenance of technical solutions aligned with our IT Strategy and business needs.
đ ď¸ Key Responsibilities
- Support the design, installation, and management of infrastructure components including hardware, storage, backup, networking, operating systems, applications, telephony, and connectivity.
- Contribute to corporate IT and digital projects, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery of assigned tasks.
- Maintain high security standards across all systems by applying updates, addressing vulnerabilities, and aligning with industry best practices.
- Provide third-line support for complex issues affecting multiple users or critical services.
- Monitor and manage backup environments, ensuring data integrity and compliance with service transition protocols.
- Administer and support the councilâs telephony systems (Mitel, Microsoft Teams) and email environment.
- Assist in procurement, configuration, and deployment of new solutions and upgrades.
- Participate in meetings with internal stakeholders and third-party vendors to ensure smooth project delivery and service continuity.
- Identify opportunities for process and technology improvements across the infrastructure landscape.

- Solid experience in IT support, ideally within a public sector or enterprise environment.
- Working knowledge of Windows Server, networking, VPNs, backup systems, and telephony platforms.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Exchange, security patching, antivirus management, and infrastructure monitoring tools.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to manage third-line support cases.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
