Company & Department Overview


We are Group Risk and Compliance (R&C) Transformation with a strong global presence, seeking a Manager to join our established Innovation and Generative AI team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in delivering impactful change and enabling our organisation to simplify and adopt new ways of working and will have a deep understanding of Generative AI capabilities and Ethics. Our team is global and while we have a strong presence in the APAC region, the Innovation Manager will be responsible to support EMEA and Americas Regions and is ideally located in one the key locations in the U.K.


The Global Risk and Compliance function comprises c.13,000 FTE spanning sub function areas including Financial Crime, Regulatory Compliance, Climate Risk, Enterprise Risk, Wholesale Credit Risk, WPB, Analytics, ORR, Traded & Treasury Risk. As such the role will require broad coverage across all sub functions.


Job Overview


The Innovation Enablement Manager will play a critical role in delivering change within the bank, and specifically within Risk and Compliance. This individual will report to Innovation Enablement Lead based in Hong Kong and be responsible for delivering transformational change enablement, as well as strong engagement and communication programs. They will work closely with key sponsors, innovation champions, and R&C SME stakeholders to ensure impactful foundation change in compliance with the bank's control framework. The ideal candidate is an individual who is a great facilitator and not afraid of presenting to a large number of audiences, evangelising GenAI tool and educate AI culture of innovation to our R&C colleagues. They will have a strong background Design Thinking, Agile ways of working as well as experience in change management and stakeholder engagement.


They thrive in this role if they are happy to tackle new problems and find solutions that don’t exist yet, are passionate about being part of greenfield innovation initiatives end-to end, and are comfortable with ambiguity.


Key Responsibilities


  • Deliver against the vision and strategy for innovation and process improvement within the organization and establish strong support for R&C.
  • Help shape and implement a strategic plan for generative AI and innovation and deliver innovation initiatives enabled through Design Thinking and Agile practices.
  • Drive AI educational programs and engagements, foster agile mindset, and enable client-centric process improvements for one of the largest Global Functions.
  • Provide support to Innovation Enablement Lead with fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the team and across the organization.
  • Engage with leaders across R&C to create a culture that embraces innovation and ensures that leaders are equipped with the necessary resources, guidance, and motivation to drive innovation initiatives.
  • Run discoveries and co-creation workshops to define and a prioritize Innovation and GenAI use cases that deliver results.
  • Design and deliver UX and innovation framework as an iterative process and enabling continuous learning and adaptation across Risk and Compliance function.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product owners (PO), IT, data scientists, engineers, and business to collect and gain insights, shaping knowledge hub and fostering a mindset of continuous improvement.
  • Play a role of coach and mentor for junior colleagues in the team and foster a culture of collaboration within the team.
  • Design and deliver compelling messaging and communication that mobilises and inspires action to change.
  • Represent Innovation and GenAI team and engage with Group AI/GAI Committees, ensuring advocacy for responsible adoption of AI as well as adherence to standards, principles, and ethical AI.


Key Requirements & Experience


Knowledge


  • Knowledge and understanding in transformation with a focus on digital and change delivery
  • Knowledge of the external environment – regulatory, political, competitors etc
  • Exposure to AI, machine learning, or data-driven technology projects is an advantage


Experience


  • Proven ability to work across regions whilst maintaining a global perspective
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think creatively.
  • Well-versed in disciplines such as Service Design, UX, and/or Agile. Six Sigma Certification highly desirable.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to effectively present complex concepts to a large crowd that are both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Familiarity with relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards related to Ethical/Responsible AI.
  • Experience in building customer propositions and end-to-end customer focused solution designs is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with value stream model and ability to navigate the complexity of the organization.
