About the role
The Inside Sales Account Manager (ISAM) role is responsible for providing dedicated operational and sales support to a defined sales team consisting of one Account Director and two Account Managers.
This is a primarily inward-facing role, focused on ensuring efficient sales processes, accurate data management, and seamless execution of the sales cycle for an assigned group of customer accounts. The ISAM works closely with the assigned sales team, vendors, finance, and operations teams to enable consistent, high-quality customer delivery behind the scenes
Key responsibilities
Dedicated Sales Team Support
• Provide day-to-day sales and operational support to a defined sales team consisting of one Account Director and two Account Managers.
• Act as the primary internal point of coordination for the assigned sales team’s customer accounts.
Sales Operations & Administration
• Manage internal sales operations including sourcing, quoting, order entry, RMAs, and after-sales support.
• Assist with customer account administration and sales documentation.
• Support operational sales activity for strategic and key accounts within the assigned team.
Order & Renewal Management
• Handle order processing, tracking, shipment coordination, renewals, and inventory management.
• Liaise with vendors and internal teams to ensure timely and accurate order fulfilment.
Customer & Vendor Support
• Act as a point of contact for customer and vendor queries relating to orders, pricing, availability, and delivery.
• Handle client and vendor onboarding and maintenance within the CRM system.
CRM & Data Management
• Create and manage opportunities, deal registrations, and ensure CRM data accuracy for the assigned accounts.
• Maintain client catalogues, pricing structures, and contractual agreements.
Reporting & Coordination
• Produce operational and sales reporting including back orders, serial numbers, tracking information, and pipeline data for the assigned sales team.
• Support forecasting and reporting requirements specific to the assigned accounts.
• Work closely with sales, finance, and operations teams to ensure smooth execution of customer orders and contracts.
Financial & Credit Support
• Assist in resolving historic debt and credit control issues for assigned accounts in collaboration with finance teams.
Skills and experience
• Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in a sales support, inside sales, or sales operations role.
• Experience working within an IT reseller, MSP, or distribution environment preferred.
• Strong organisational and multitasking skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Confident communicator with strong verbal and written skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and CRM systems (e.g. Salesforce, HubSpot, or equivalent).
• Understanding of IT solutions, hardware, software, and services is desirable.
