Insights Lead


Assist the Head of Oversight and Munich Re Specialty – Global Markets (MRS-GM) CRO in delivering the Legal, Risk & Compliance (LRC) Target Operating Model and key components of the LRC vision:

  • To be value adding and forward looking with a focus on risk analysis and reporting to senior management and Boards
  • To use advanced legal, risk and compliance tools and mechanisms, commensurate with the scale and maturity of the businesses and its ambitions


Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement governance reporting capabilities and drive insightful outputs to senior management, ExCo, Boards and relevant committees and groups
  • Develop and deliver business partnering activities including interactions across MRS-GM, GSI and regional hubs
  • Develop and utilise data and MI to improve oversight, promoting greater insights and decision making, with strong engagement with the Data team
  • Develop and implement approaches to drive collaborative working across LRC and effective collaboration with other functions
  • Working closely with the Change Lead to lead and deliver insights analysis, risk commentary and opinions for senior management, committees and Boards
  • Identify and drive good and best practice approaches across the function, supporting the design, implementation and embedding of key LRC frameworks
  • Working closely with the Change Lead to support LRC input to key MRS-GM business deliveries, change initiatives including strategic prioritisation and business planning
  • Working closely with governance leads in LRC and Internal Audit to ensure comprehensive understanding and delivery of good governance and oversight across the business.
  • Establish and maintain relationship with internal and external stakeholders across MRS-GM, GSI, Munich Re Group and external advisers as appropriate.
  • Help drive forward good Conduct for the business to deliver the best outcomes for customers / policyholders.


Knowledge and Skills

  • Significant insurance experience working in a Risk or Compliance role in the UK and/or European context
  • Ability and track record in connecting the dots across the business, be forward looking, challenge thinking and influence senior stakeholders
  • Comfortable understanding and communicating clearly with quantitative and qualitative information including good ability to parse many pieces of information to understand the full problem, and explain it simply
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including evidence of drafting Board-level reports and papers
  • Data-driven and ability to critically identify the data needs, interpreting information and extracting value and actions from a diversity of data and MI to support good-decision making and shareholder value
  • Must be able to evidence strong stakeholder management skills in a change, challenge and support capacity, and demonstrate flexibility and influence as required
  • Must have a good change mindset and demonstrate ability to thrive and bring team along in a change and cross-functional environment
  • Must demonstrate accuracy, attention to detail and diligent approach to work
  • Must be able to work on own initiative, have strong management and organisation skills and be business oriented
  • Experience of implementing and embedding risk and/or compliance strategies and frameworks across organisations of differing maturities
