We have two highly regarded brands; SiS which combines world-class science and innovation to provide optimal performance nutritional solutions for professional athletes, sports and fitness enthusiasts and the active lifestyle community. This includes over 320 professional teams worldwide across a broad range of sports including Football, Rugby, Cycling, Athletics, Basketball, Netball and Swimming. Brand ambassadors include former track cyclist Sir Chris Hoy, an eleven-time world champion and six-time Olympic champion, and Eilish McColgan, who won gold in the 2022 Commonwealth Games 10,000 metres.
PhD Nutrition is a premium, active-nutrition brand for the active lifestyle community wanting intelligent nutrition to help them achieve their goals. With over 20 years of research and development, our products are designed to maximise performance in and out of the gym. It’s an exciting time for PhD Nutrition as 2025 will kick off an entirely new line up of brand ambassadors, from hybrid athletes to qualified sports nutritionists.
The two brands sell through the phd.com and scienceinsport.com digital platforms, third-party online marketplaces including Amazon, as well as extensive domestic and international retail distribution.
In 2022 the company opened a state of the art 160,000 square foot manufacturing and logistics facility in Blackburn, Lancashire. Providing a significant advantage in product costs and customer response time and most importantly, allowing Science In Sport to lead the way for quality standards.
Science In Sport is a Performance Solutions partner to globally recognised elite teams, including Tottenham Hotspur, Saracens Rugby, British Triathlon, Aquatics GB, British Cycling, England Netball and Loughborough Sports. As well as being the Official Energy Gel Provider of RunThrough and the Official Nutrition Partner of Ultra X.

The Work - Your 4 Most Important Responsibilities
- Commercial insights: providing category insights across our commercial portfolio to drive decision-making on core elements such as pricing.
- Digital insights: support the commercial channels to better understand the underlying drivers of their performance through reporting and meaningful insights.
- Data Transformation: working within the data transformation team, support the establishment of our data centre of excellence and and ease of data flow through automated reporting and other data tools
- Market trend analysis: enable our commercial teams to keep on-top of industry trends and help to ensure we are always on the pulse of trends and opportunities
Accountability – What You Are Responsible For Delivering
- Enable an 'always-on' approach to reporting and insights through automated and meaningful data tools.
- Ensure the business to stay competitive, enhance customer satisfaction, and drive business growth by aligning products and brands with consumer wants and needs.
- Gather and analyse data, uncover valuable insights, and provide actionable recommendations to improve products, services, and marketing strategies.
- Produce continuous Brand tracking to understand performance and areas for improvement.
- Run ad hoc research projects to understand growth areas in sports nutrition to recommend courses of action for the business.
- Monthly business wide customer updates for all commercial channels
- Management of external data providers Circana, Profitero and Brandbank.
- Educate the business, particularly the commercial teams on what is hot and what’s not, commercial impact of our performance and use data to influence change.
- Seek out new avenues to understand our performance beyond the standard tools and systems that exist.
- Build great relationships with the commercial teams.
Capability - the skills and behaviours required to do this job well
- Prior experience within a similar role (2-3 years).
- You are experienced in managing a wide range of qualitative and quantitative datasets and insight.
- You’re obsessive over data and know how to use it. You possess strong analytical skills with the ability to leverage data to develop strategy/decisions.
- Cross functional collaboration is a standard behaviour.
- You’re a compelling storyteller who can take data from multiple sources to influence action.
- Strong experience using Nielsen, Kantar, Circana required.
- Strong Excel and PowerBi skills required.
- You’re a sports nutrition enthusiast who is intuitive to the market and can predict the next big trends.
Performance – how you will know you are doing a great job
- Continuous Brand tracking throughout the year.
- Updated Brand consumer data / profiles and Sports Nutrition Consumer profiles.
- Support for our NPD team to ensure our pipeline of NPD projects is customer and consumer led.
Specific metrics will be set when in role and will be reviewed and built upon regularly. Alongside this, you will be supported with a personal performance plan that will enable you to continue improving your own performance and impact.
