What You Will Do
We are currently hiring two
Institutional Partnerships Account Development Specialists to join our team at Frontiers. In this role, you’ll be central to our mission to make science open by building lasting relationships with universities, libraries, and research institutions. If you're passionate about Open Access, skilled at connecting with people, and enjoy turning data into action, we’d love to hear from you.
You will be the go-to person for a portfolio of institutional partners, ensuring a smooth and valuable experience from onboarding to renewal. You’ll work independently, yet collaboratively, across multiple teams to help our partners thrive and grow with us.
Your Responsibilities
- Own and manage relationships with your assigned institutional partners
- Handle onboarding, renewal processes, and day-to-day support
- Prepare tailored proposals and usage reports that demonstrate value to partners
- Spot opportunities for upselling and deeper engagement using data insights
- Ensure partners remain eligible, informed, and supported throughout their journey
- Maintain clean, accurate records in Salesforce and internal systems
- Collaborate with Sales, Product, Publishing, Finance, and Legal teams
- Co-manage the shared inbox and respond to partner queries
- Help build better processes, tools, and documentation to elevate the partner experience
What You Bring
- Prior experience in customer success or account development
- Experience in scholarly publishing, Open Access, or academia (a plus)
- Fluent in English and either German or Italian (both written and spoken)
- Strong relationship-building, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable with tools like Salesforce, Jira, Confluence, Tableau, Excel
- Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and organized—you thrive on autonomy and follow-through
- Curious and data-savvy—you enjoy interpreting trends and turning them into insights
- A passion for science, research, and the future of Open Access
