Start: ASAP
Day Rate: £1000-£1200pd (outside IR35)
Our client, a leading mid-market Private Equity fund, has recently gone exclusive on the acquisition of a high-growth, £20m revenue consulting business based in London. They are now seeking a high-impact Interim CFO (Pre-Deal) to lead all finance workstreams ahead of completion.
This is a hands-on, strategically important role, working directly with the PE deal team, CEO/founders, and advisors. The successful candidate will own the delivery of critical pre-deal deliverables and provide clear financial insight to support both the investment case and the post-deal planning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead all finance-related elements of the transaction process, including financial, commercial and legal due diligence support
- Build a robust, fully integrated 3-statement financial model (historic + forecast) from the ground up, aligned to management’s high-level growth plan
- Draft a clear, compelling business plan and supporting pack for the investor and board use
- Identify, analyse, and present key financial and operational KPIs relevant to a timesheet-driven consulting business (e.g. utilisation, realisation, revenue per consultant, GP per project)
- Bridge any capability gaps within the existing finance function by stepping in to produce outputs directly
- Work closely with external advisors (DD providers, legal counsel, tax, etc.) to ensure readiness for completion
- Provide forward-looking commercial insight and recommendations to both management and the deal team
Requirements:
- Track record of supporting businesses through the full pre-deal lifecycle in a private equity context
- Strong modelling and business planning capability, able to build clean, detailed models without reliance on others
- Experience working in consulting, professional services, or other people-based/timesheet-driven models
- Strong background in supporting due diligence activities
- Comfortable operating with limited support, existing finance team has minimal bandwidth to assist
- Ideally, ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified
- Available to work 4–5 days per week onsite in London
If you feel you meet the above criteria, please apply. Unfortunately, given the number of applications, we may struggle to provide feedback to all unsuccessful parties.
