(Interim) Director of Financial Reporting - to 12 Months

Location: Oxfordshire (2-3 days on-site)

Rate: Interim day rate (Inside IR35)

Our client, a prominent and complex not-for-profit organisation with multiple entities, is seeking an exceptional Interim Director of Financial Reporting. This £1bn+ organisation requires a leader to steer the financial reporting function through a year-end cycle and beyond.

About the Role:

This pivotal role demands a seasoned professional with a wealth of experience in both private and public sector environments (ideally both). The successful candidate will possess the technical acumen to manage key stakeholders, including auditors, internal governance, and executive leadership, ensuring a seamless and successful year-end process.

Key Qualifications:

• Extensive experience in large, complex organisations, with a proven track record of leading year-end processes on time, maintaining control, and delivering excellent stakeholder experiences without audit overruns.
• Up-to-date and comprehensive technical knowledge.
• Strong stakeholder management skills, particularly with external auditors.
• Effective team leadership, capable of coaching and directing a team of 12+ members.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, particularly for governance meetings.

Preferred Experience:

• Experience in a group reporting role within a scalable public sector organisation is highly desirable. Alternatively, candidates with scalable private sector experience and a demonstrated ability to transition across different sectors and hit the ground running will also be considered.
