Interim Finance Business Partner – Private Equity backed SaaS

Contract: Interim – Outside IR35

Reporting to: Senior Finance Business Partner

Sector: SaaS / Technology

Role Overview

The Interim Finance Business Partner will provide hands-on commercial finance support to a high-growth SaaS business. Working closely with the Senior Finance Business Partner, the role will focus on projects with will support the delivering insightful analysis, supporting trading and performance reviews, and partnering with senior commercial and sales stakeholders to drive informed decision-making.

This is a highly analytical, stakeholder-facing role suited to a proactive finance professional comfortable operating in a fast-paced, private equity-backed environment.

Projects Responsibilities

Support the Senior Finance Business Partner with ad-hoc reporting, financial analysis, and data interpretation to support commercial decision-making
Assist with weekly trading updates, including preparation of reporting, attendance at trading meetings, and capturing performance narrative and key actions

Support monthly Business Unit reviews by producing management reporting packs, presentations, and commentary for senior stakeholders

Act as a finance business partner to selected commercial and sales leaders (CRO -2 level), providing financial insight, challenge, and support

Assist in the sales planning and target-setting process, including building and maintaining financial models, setting up tracking files, and agreeing targets with sales leadership

Support performance tracking against sales targets, highlighting risks, opportunities, and variances

Other Project deliverables.

Key Skills & Experience

Proven experience in a Finance Business Partnering or commercial finance role, ideally within a SaaS or subscription-based business
Exposure to private equity-backed environments is highly desirable
Strong understanding of SaaS metrics (e.g. ARR, MRR, churn, pipeline, bookings) preferred
Advanced Excel skills essential; experience with Power BI is beneficial
Experience working with Salesforce or similar CRM systems is highly advantageous
Strong analytical capability with the ability to translate data into clear commercial insights
Confident communicator, able to engage and influence senior non-financial stakeholders
Comfortable working in an interim capacity and adapting quickly to new systems and processes
