Interim Lawyer – Finance (12-Month FTC, 4+ PQE)

Overview

Our client, a leading international law firm, is seeking an interim lawyer to join their fund finance team in London on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified finance associate to gain exposure to a variety of leverage/fund finance transactions within a high-performing team, adding another arm to their practice.

The Role

This interim position will involve supporting the fund finance team on a range of transactions, working closely with senior lawyers and partners. The role is open to candidates with general finance experience, including but not limited to fund finance, leveraged finance, or related disciplines. Key responsibilities include:

• Managing and executing transactions independently under supervision
• Engaging with clients and supporting business development activity
• Working collaboratively with team members at all levels
• Contributing to day-to-day team operations and workflow

Team & Work

• The team advises a mix of lender and borrower clients, including banks, credit funds, and alternative lenders
• Work includes structured finance, portfolio acquisition financing, and a variety of lending transactions
• The team is described as highly collegial, with opportunities to collaborate across finance groups in London and internationally

Candidate Requirements

• Qualified in England & Wales
• 4+ years’ PQE with experience in finance-related work
• Comfortable managing transactions and guiding more junior colleagues
• Client-facing skills and willingness to participate in business development activities
• Experience in fund finance is advantageous but not essential; a strong general finance background is acceptable
