The Role
We are looking for a proactive and experienced Interim Finance Manager with strong transformation and department improvement experience to support our growth journey. They would be responsible for overseeing a team of 7, across financial operations (AR, AP and Treasury) and management accounts across several companies. The group already has a solid finance team in place but needs to transform to scale, by building on the operational processes/system, enhance/build reporting and commercial tools. Finance needs to evolve into being effective business partners. This role would support the Finance Director and Financial Controller in delivering on their objectives.
Responsibilities include producing management reports, supporting with budgeting and forecasting processes, commercial reporting/MI, cash reporting and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. The role will report to the Financial Controller, work closely with operational managers and Finance Director.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Management & Reporting
Oversee all financial operations for several companies within the group.
Support the management accounts to deliver and enhance the process/tools to be a best-in-class finance team.
Support the preparation of year-end accounts including liaison with external auditors as required.
Reduce reporting days and timeline of monthly recs across the team.
Budgeting & Forecasting
Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts as directed.
Financial performance and KPI analysis.
Support operational managers with financial planning.
Assist with building of planning and budgeting solutions to enhance decision-making.
Fee Management
Help maintain the organisation’s excel based fee models and support with projects to build processes within the systems.
Support with the rollout of new fees for the year and answer customer queries re pricing changes.
Operational Finance
Identify opportunities and support to complete projects to streamline workflows.
Team Leadership & Development
Lead, supervise, train and support the finance team to ensure efficient and accurate delivery of financial tasks.
Foster a collaborative, high-performing finance function focussed on process improvement.
Compliance & Governance
Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory financial requirements (e.g. HMRC, Companies House, CQC funding).
Person Specification
Essential:
Qualified (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
Team leadership and team management skills.
Strong understanding of management accounts, financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting.
Strong system, Excel and preferable NetSuite experience.
Transformation experience such as department improvements.
Strong analytical, organisational, and communication skills.
Commitment to the values and mission of a care organisation.
Desirable:
Transferable sector experience such as multi-site or similarly staffed companies e.g. health care, leisure, retail etc.
