National Grid is hiring an Interim Personal Assistant on a 9-12 month maternity cover contract to support the President of National Grid Ventures.

This role is pivotal, offering the chance to make a meaningful impact at the highest executive level within the organisation.

As the Personal Assistant to the President, you will step into a uniquely dynamic, fast-paced environment where your proactive and forward-thinking approach will be relied upon daily. The President’s office is at the heart of NGV’s business operations, and your role will be to ensure seamless efficiency, organisation, and professionalism in every interaction.

The role is hybrid and you can enjoy working from home and also our office based at the Strand in London. We will require flexibility within this role to suit the needs of the President.

What You'll Do

  • Efficiently manage and coordinate a demanding and rapidly changing diary, ensuring timely responses to meeting invitations.
  • Collaborate with other PAs to synchronise schedules for group meetings.
  • Arrange domestic and international travel, including flights, accommodation, transfers, trains, taxis, restaurant bookings, and visas or travel documents.
  • Prepare for meetings by collecting and printing all necessary documents and agendas.
  • Screen incoming phone calls, take messages, and respond to enquiries.
  • Coordinate meetings, conference calls, and interviews.
  • Organise onsite and offsite meetings, conferences, and events as required for the NGV President and the wider executive team.
  • Check, filter, forward, or reply to emails as needed.
  • Compile and submit expense reports.
  • Process invoices and raise purchase orders.
  • Maintain a forward-planning "virtual file" with daily and weekly documents, packs, and agendas for meetings.
  • Receive, prioritise, acknowledge, and respond to incoming mail and routine enquiries.
  • Serve as the first point of contact to support the resolution of queries and issues.
  • Respond promptly to stakeholders, customers, and internal queries to ensure swift resolution of matters raised.

What You'll Need

  • Exceptional organisation skills, diligent and conscientious
  • Outstanding stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to multi-task in a very demanding, fast-paced environment, and take pride and responsibility in your work.
  • Experience in handling confidential and sensitive information, discreet, forward-thinking and can work under pressure on your own initiative.
  • Demonstrates initiative and flexibility, taking personal responsibility for correcting problems promptly.
  • Proven experience working as a PA or EA at C-Suite or senior leadership level
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft software including outlook, teams, excel and powerpoint
  • Inbox management experience
  • Effective communication with external and internal customers to monitor delivery and satisfaction.
  • Can review accuracy of own work
  • Prioritise workload to ensure projects are completed on time

What You'll Get

A competitive salary between £44,100- £51,861 per annum dependent on capability.

As well as your base salary, you will receive a bonus based on personal and company performance and a competitive contributory pension scheme where we will double match your contribution to a maximum company contribution of 12%.
