Overview
Cobalt are excited to be working with a global real estate investment and development business to recruit an experienced and motivated Tax Manager to oversee UK and international tax compliance. The role involves managing tax reporting and compliance processes across multiple jurisdictions, supporting internal teams, and driving continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Tax Compliance & Reporting
- Oversee tax compliance for both UK and international operations, ensuring timely filing of returns, estimates, and payments.
- Manage global corporate tax returns and indirect tax filings (VAT/GST, Fringe Benefit Tax)
- Coordinate year-end tax provision processes and investor reporting.
- Maintain and improve compliance tracking systems and global transfer pricing documentation.
Liaison & Advisory
- Manage third-party tax compliance providers.
- Handle tax audits and correspondence with HMRC and other authorities.
- Provide accounting data for quarterly close and support ad-hoc projects for the tax team.
- Advise regional finance teams on tax-related matters.
Process Improvement
- Enhance efficiency in accounting data provision and related workflows.
- Lead the development of global tax policies and procedures.
- Monitor legislative changes in operating jurisdictions and ensure business compliance.
Project Work
- Contribute to tax-related projects that align with broader business goals and continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Skills & Experience
- Minimum 2 years' experience, ideally possessing an accounting or tax qualification (ACA, CA, ACCA, CTA, or equivalent).
- Strong knowledge of UK and international corporate tax laws and compliance.
- Experience with UK GAAP and other accounting frameworks is preferred.
- Prior exposure to real estate investment/development is advantageous.
- Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in accounting systems.
- Strong organisation, communication, and team collaboration skills.
- Flexibility to work across global time zones.
