Oberlanders are a multi-award winning, AJ100 architectural practice with offices in Edinburgh, Glasgow, London, Oxford, Ardgay, Inverness and Galashiels. We specialise in all areas of architectural design with particular experience in large scale, complex science and research, education and health care projects. Our project locations span the length and breadth of the UK and Ireland and occasionally on sites in mainland Europe. We have a staff of nearly 70 working as an integrated unit across all office locations.

Job overview

We are seeking a highly talented Interior Designer to join our busy team to work on a portfolio of high-quality contemporary interiors. Your role will involve working at all stages from concept to completion, across an exciting range of high quality, innovative projects for our diverse portfolio of amazing clients. The job can be based in our Glasgow, Edinburgh or Oxford office with the option of hybrid working on completion of the probationary period. You will be expected to travel to client meetings, construction sites and, on occasion, between all our studio locations.

Education and experience

You should have relevant qualification such as a BA Interior Design, a BA Architectural Interior Design or similar. Ideally you should have a minimum of 5 years professional experience.

We’d particularly like to hear from candidates who can demonstrate the majority of the following skills and experience:

·       A proven track record of experience in high quality interior design/interior architecture

·       An excellent understanding of construction and manufacturing of projects.

·       A good technical ability and understanding, as the role goes beyond applied finishes.

·       Experience in running projects will be an advantage

·       Ability to create and develop design concepts in conjunction with the architectural team and as stand-alone projects

·       Have experience in Large Scale Refurbishments as well as Large Scale Purpose-built New Builds.

·       Tender Drawing Pack Production & NBS Specification

·   Ability to work in a consultancy environment, with a strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills

·       Experience of FF&E selection, budgeting, scheduling, and procurement

·       Effective time management, resourcing and managing the project team

·       Experience, working knowledge and understanding in Revit, AutoCAD, Lumion, Photoshop, InDesign

·      Experience in producing creative content, drawings, models, images, material and mood boards and other documents relating to the design

·       Self-motivated but also a good team player
