Internship Opportunity – Alternative Investment Research

We are looking for a motivated and analytical Intern to join the Alternative Investment Research team of a major international investment bank in London.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- You will support the evaluation and monitoring of alternative and regulated funds across the firm’s global business lines. Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the development of internal views on fund strategies and performance
- Maintaining and updating the regulated fund due diligence database
- Performing qualitative and quantitative analysis of fund managers
- Assisting in strategic and operational due diligence, peer analysis, and reference checks
- Participating in meetings with fund managers and documenting findings
- Ongoing monitoring of approved funds
- Responding to ad-hoc research and analysis requests
What We’re Looking For:
You’re curious, detail-oriented, and eager to gain hands-on experience in the world of alternative investments.
Key Skills & Knowledge:
- A degree in economics, finance, data science, mathematics, engineering, or similar (minimum 2:1)
- Advanced Excel skills (complex spreadsheet work required)
- Working knowledge of financial statistics and quantitative analysis techniques
- Basic understanding of macroeconomics and asset class performance drivers
- Familiarity with a wide variety of financial instruments
- Programming ability (e.g., Python, VBA) is a strong plus
- Excellent written and verbal communication in English
- Ability to draft analytical and technical reports
- Strong interpersonal, time management, and organisational skills
- Self-starter with a high level of reliability and autonomy
- An additional European language is a plus
