Interventional Radiology is looking for a qualified Advanced Clinical Practitioner. Ideally the right candidate will have either Cardiac Cath Lab or Interventional Radiology experience and will need to complete the departments IR competencies within the first 12 months of starting the role.
A high profile, accessible and responsive leader with clinical responsibility for the delivery of Advanced Clinical Practice in Interventional Radiology, who works alongside the Radiology Nurse Manager. They must be able to make informed decisions within their own speciality and scope of professional practice, involving patients and public to ensure agreed standards, targets and objectives are met.
Successful applicants will be required to provide an immunisation and vaccination report, from either their current UK occupational health provider or their UK GP.
They will autonomously assess Interventional Radiology patients including initial history taking, clinical assessment, treatment and evaluation of care. They will demonstrate safe, senior clinical decision-making and expert care, for patients providing appropriate clinical management plans and prescription of any medication required.
The post holder will demonstrate critical thinking in the clinical decision-making process. They will work collaboratively with Clinical Diagnostics to meet the needs of patients and will play a key role in service delivery and adherence to policy and procedures. They will also be instrumental in guiding junior medical and nursing staff in relation to relevant protocols and procedures.
The post holder will be required to work within all areas where Interventional Radiology patients may be housed. This includes pre assessment, inpatient ward areas and Interventional Radiology undertaking assessments alongside medical colleagues, providing support and guidance to nursing and medical staff in the management of Interventional Radiology patients. They will work alongside medical, nursing and radiographer colleagues in the management of Interventional Radiology patients providing support, guidance and advice as required whilst alos participating in the Interventional Radiology oncall service.
