Who we’re looking for
We are looking for an Investment Analyst to join the Real Asset Private Credit team, to support the origination team to evaluate and execute lending opportunities across both Real Estate and Infrastructure debt markets.
You will support the origination team to review, analyse, structure and execute lending opportunities on behalf of FGCs’ internal and external clients. Primary responsibilities will include supporting end-to-end transaction and execution process from initial screening, financial underwriting and structuring to investment approval process and due diligence through to completion.
About Future Growth Capital (FGC).
Future Growth Capital (FGC) will, subject to all regulatory approvals, support the objectives of the UK’s Mansion House Compact, unlocking investment opportunities in private markets for millions of new pension savers to benefit from the diversification and investment return opportunities that unlisted assets can offer. In doing so, FGC aims to deploy an initial £2.5bn as part of a planned £10-20bn deployment over the next 10 years into UK and global private markets, supported by Phoenix Group’s plans to invest 5% of its relevant savings products on behalf of its policyholders as well as ongoing fundraising led by both Schroders and Phoenix Group, via its Standard Life subsidiary.
FGC will design and manage UK and Global multi-private asset solutions for UK insurance and pension clients providing exposure to a broader range of innovative companies and investment opportunities for millions of UK pension savers.
The FGC Real Asset Private Credit team is managed by highly experienced industry experts who have worked across the capital stack and through market cycles on both the buy and sell side. T he investment objective is to minimise the level of risk to achieve the target level of return. Behind this investment philosophy is a set of core beliefs which drive the investment process, including financing and refinancing active borrowers looking to drive value through management and investments, across a diverse cross section of assets with strong fundamentals. In executing this philosophy, ESG is considered an important part of our role as responsible and effective investment managers and we seek to ensure sustainability is embedded throughout the investment management process for all stages of investment.

The base
We are based in Schroders HQ in the City of London. We’re close to our clients, in the heart of the UK’s financial centre. And we have everything we need to work flexibly.
Responsibilities
- Support the origination team to evaluate and execute lending opportunities
- Review and analyse all lending opportunities, and ensure proper and timely recording on the origination management platform
- Research and prepare market and valuation data for prospective opportunities (conduct macroeconomic, market data collection and assessment of investment scenarios)
- Support wider origination team to complete due diligence and financial modelling
- Prepare investment committee memos for relevant approvals
- Support transaction execution, including managing internal and external stakeholders
- Support asset management reporting, quarterly portfolio reviews and investor reporting
- Support capital raising initiative through research and presentations
The Knowledge, Experience And Qualifications You Need
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent in finance or related field required
- Experience in finance, related to underwriting/valuation preferable
- Passion for financial and economic analysis, ability to structure quantitative and qualitative problem-solving approaches, and attention to detail and accuracy
- Advanced spreadsheet skills in financial modelling and analysis, ability to create / work on complex Excel models
- Keenness and ability to cultivate broad and active network of private markets
- Confidence in taking ownership of your objectives and efficiently managing your time to meet deadlines.
