We’re recruiting for an Investment Oversight Technical & Quality Analyst within the Investment Oversight Team. You will assist the team in ensuring we deliver great outcomes for our clients by ensuring key due diligence and control processes are being carried out to a high standard, supporting Nucleus’s investment governance framework and providing technical support to the wider team.
You’ll have an eye for detail and enthusiasm for finding ways to do things better, highlighting where a control could be improved and aid the design and implementation of this to ensure we best service the needs of our clients. You’ll need to understand the consequences of all actions and manage these in line with our risk framework.
You Will Spend Your Time
- Reviewing and presenting non-standard investments referred to the investment governance committees.
- Supporting investment governance committees through maintaining policies, Terms of Reference, producing papers and updating Action logs and minutes.
- Carrying out quality assurance checks on key non-standard investment and investment manager due diligence processes.
- Carrying out key investment oversight control processes.
- Supporting oversight of off-platform investment managers and custodians.
- Identifying, highlighting and manging risks across Nucleus’s off-platform asset book.
- Supporting projects to improve processes and deliver great customer outcomes.
- Managing complex investment queries and sharing your knowledge to support the Investment Oversight Team, the wider Nucleus business, and our advisers and customers.
You will have a strong knowledge of investments, particularly non-standard investments, such as private equity funds, hedge funds and unquoted shares, and of discretionary investment managers, and be able to apply that knowledge to solve complex queries and problems as they arise. Experience of non-standard investment and investment manager due diligence processes and associated governance, risk, quality assurance and control processes are preferable.
A Bit About You
Your friends would probably describe you as the "super-organised" one, ridiculously well planned and someone who takes time to really understand people and their needs. You’re the type of person who asks great questions to understand expectations but can react like lightening to solve problems as they occur.
You love mentoring others and get a real kick out of encouraging the right behaviours, supporting our core values and personally demonstrating these. You’ll set the bar high on performance even when stretching for the team, creating a team environment where high performance is the norm.
Role
We’ve always placed more importance on cultural contribution above technical ability, but in this role we’d really like you to have/be:
- Previous experience in the financial services industry
- Experience of coaching others
- Excellent relationship building skills
- Able to prioritise the high impact work, but never neglect the details
- Excellent communication skills – We need you to be completely comfortable representing our culture and values, with an emphasis on a speedy, friendly style
- Able to anticipate the needs of those you work with, juggling conflicting priorities
- The ability to think laterally and come up with new solutions to old problems
