Job Title: Programme Manager – Life/400 Insurance Applications
Location: United Kingdom (Hybrid / Remote options available)

We are now seeking an experienced
Programme Manager to oversee the delivery of programmes centred around DXC’s Life/400 and Integral Life Classic applications — core Life & Pensions systems used by leading insurers. This role will be pivotal in ensuring the successful execution of large-scale transformation, upgrade, and service programmes for our clients.
Role Summary
The Programme Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring the successful delivery of multiple related projects within a Life/400 programme. This includes aligning delivery with client and business objectives, ensuring high standards of quality, stakeholder engagement, and financial oversight. Acting as the primary point of contact for programme delivery, you will manage scope, track performance, mitigate risks, and foster collaboration across multiple project streams.
Responsibilities
Client (Internal or External)
- Act as DXC’s delivery point of contact for the Life/400 programme
- Represent the programme delivery team and DXC resources within it
- Define and oversee the delivery approach (Agile, Hybrid, Waterfall, etc.)
- Ensure client satisfaction with both the overall programme and project deliveries
- Identify growth opportunities and strengthen client relationships
Scope Management
- Understand programme scope within commercial contracts or service agreements
- Ensure alignment of delivery with client expectations
- Manage scope changes, balancing delivery timelines, budget, quality, and resources
Financial Oversight
- Manage programme budget, including cost tracking, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Ensure financial alignment across multiple projects, addressing deviations proactively
- Oversee resource allocations and time bookings
Stakeholder Management
- Identify stakeholders and ensure clarity of roles across the programme
- Develop effective communication and engagement strategies
- Maintain regular reporting and governance to update stakeholders on progress and risks
Resource Management
- Collaborate with capability managers to allocate appropriate resources
- Address resourcing risks and constraints as they arise
- Support training and development of programme team members
Quality Assurance
- Define and enforce quality standards for the programme
- Ensure Life/400 projects meet agreed coding, testing, and review measures
Planning & Delivery Management
- Develop and maintain an integrated programme plan
- Oversee project managers to ensure alignment with programme objectives
- Identify blockers and resolve them to maintain delivery momentum
Risk & Issue Management
- Identify, track, and mitigate programme-wide risks and issues
- Escalate critical risks appropriately
Communication & Governance
- Establish and run a programme-wide governance and reporting structure
- Lead programme reviews and executive-level reporting
- Represent the Life/400 programme in governance forums
Team Leadership
- Foster a collaborative and high-performing environment
- Actively support teams by removing blockers and resolving conflicts
- Engage in the Programme Management community, sharing best practices
Essential Skills & Qualifications
- Relevant certifications: Agile (SAFe, PMI-ACP), PMP, PRINCE2, ITIL
- Tools: Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, MS Project
- Significant programme management experience within IT consulting or enterprise software delivery
- Strong background managing complex multi-stream programmes
- Experience in insurance software (Life & Pensions, ideally Life/400 or similar policy administration systems)
