IT Assurance Assistant Manager - Leading Consultancy

Lawrence Harvey are supporting a leading consultancy who are looking to hire an Assistant Manager to join and strengthen their growing IT Assurance and Technology Risk function. This role is a key hire as they build out the team hierarchy and expand their assurance offerings. You will act as a line lead, owning a portfolio of work and helping to drive quality, consistency, and excellence across the team.

The function supports 250+ clients and continues to grow rapidly, with strong backing from senior leadership.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and deliver end-to-end IT Assurance engagements, integrated into wider audit and assurance processes
Act as a line manager, mentoring, coaching, and developing team members
Manage resourcing across engagements and support workflow planning
Own a client portfolio and act as a trusted point of contact
Translate technology and IT risks into clear financial and business impacts for clients and stakeholders
Support and contribute to SOC engagements (experience desirable)

Champion audit quality, risk management, and best practice across the team

Contribute to the development of new service offerings, including AI Assurance and ISO 42001 readiness

Work independently while collaborating closely with managers and senior stakeholders

Requirements:

You do not need to come from a pure IT Assurance background, but you must be able to demonstrate hands-on IT assurance skills and a strong understanding of technology risk.

Background in external audit, consulting, or internal audit
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex risks clearly
Proven ability to manage multiple engagements and stakeholders
Confidence working independently and taking ownership
Strong understanding of ISA 315/330/402
Experience delivering IT Assurance, SOC 1 & 2, and IT Internal Audit engagements.
Proficient in testing ITGCs, ITACs, and IPEs across varied system environments.
Sound knowledge of ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Dynamics, Sage, Xero) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
Familiar with ISO 27001, COBIT, and NIST frameworks.
