Your Role And Responsibilities
As a Brand Sales Specialist you'll work closely with clients to develop relationships, understand their needs, earn their trust and show them how IBM's industry leading solutions will solve their problems whilst delivering value to their business.
- Solution Leadership – Serve as the senior technical and strategic authority on IBM’s IT Automation and FinOps portfolio, including product positioning, competitive differentiation, and architectural best practices.
- Sales Enablement – Work hand-in-hand with sellers to identify opportunities, develop win strategies, and craft compelling value propositions that align to client priorities.
- Customer Engagement – Lead high-impact client meetings, workshops, and demonstrations for senior decision-makers across IT, finance, and operations.
- Deal Acceleration – Partner with sales leadership to structure offers, guide technical evaluations, and overcome competitive or technical barriers.
- Thought Leadership – Represent IBM in industry events, webinars, and executive briefings to build brand presence and market credibility.
- Portfolio Expansion – Proactively identify cross-sell and upsell opportunities across IBM’s automation, AI, and cloud portfolios.
- Field Mentorship – Coach and mentor sellers and technical teams, helping them strengthen skills in automation and FinOps solution selling.

Required Technical And Professional Expertise
- Proven Expertise – 8+ years in IT automation, cloud operations, or financial operations (FinOps) with a strong understanding of automation tooling, observability, and cloud cost optimization.
- Sales Impact – Track record of influencing multi-million-dollar deals in a pre-sales or technical sales leadership role.
- Executive Communication – Ability to distill complex technical topics into clear, compelling business narratives for senior executives.
- Industry Knowledge – Familiarity with trends in AI-driven automation, IT operations management, cloud infrastructure, and FinOps frameworks (e.g., FinOps Foundation).
- Technical Depth – Hands-on understanding of automation platforms, cloud cost management tools, IT service management, and integration patterns.
- Collaboration Skills – Ability to operate in a matrixed environment, influencing without direct authority, and aligning across sales, product, and engineering.

- Expertise in the Automation Market: Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency in the automation market, enabling you to consult with clients and build trust (training on IBM's Automation offerings will be provided).
