Are you an experienced IT professional eager to provide outstanding customer service and drive innovation?

If so, Perth & Kinross Council's IT Operations team is looking for a coordinator to lead the Infrastructure Support - Business Applications unit, playing a key role in delivering secure and resilient digital services.

Infrastructure Support - Business Applications

In This Position You Will

  • Lead the IT support and technical architecture for the council's business applications including design, implementation, migrations, upgrades, patching and decommissioning
  • Develop and maintain the business application technical requirements used when procuring or renewing applications
  • Ensure accurate business application supporting documentation including diagrams, fixes, upgrades, best practices, and disaster recovery
  • Participate in business application procurement
  • Oversee the remediation of security vulnerabilities
  • Support the IT Incident Recovery Manager in assessing and responding to security incidents, specifically for business applications
  • Oversee management, support, licensing and development of the council's SQL server & Oracle estate
  • Liaise between IT and Service areas, with skills in diplomacy, coordination, and report writing to support operational activities
  • Support IT Asset Management by maintaining accurate configuration data and contributing to lifecycle planning and risk management.

Additional Information

  • You'll be based at Carpenter House, Perth, with an option to work from home depending on service requirements.

Skills & Experience Required

What You'll Bring

You will be educated to at least HND level in an appropriate discipline or be able to evidence sustained technical experience in IT.

We're Looking For a Co-ordinator Who

  • Is familiar with security frameworks and compliance standards.
  • Has strong written and oral communication skills and who can effectively communicate with a technical and non-technical audience.
  • Is self-motivated, organised, and comfortable managing competing priorities.
  • Has excellent planning and organisational skills with the ability to lead and implement projects within target deadlines.
  • Can develop innovative solutions and provide technical support to all other areas of the business.
  • Demonstrates an outgoing, professional and confident approach.
  • Can work as part of a multidisciplinary team with the ability to engage effectively with a wide and diverse audience.
  • Can report information concisely, confidently and within deadlines.
  • Has line-management and supervisory experience, as co-ordinators in these roles will line-manage IT engineers.
  • Demonstrates a calm and professional approach when resolving conflicts.
  • Ensuring adherence to Change and Problem Management procedures.
