Location: UK, Ireland, Germany, Indianapolis, or Johannesburg offices.
The IT Director – Architecture is responsible for leading the enterprise architecture strategy, ensuring alignment with the organization’s business objectives, and driving the design and implementation of robust, scalable, and secure IT solutions. This role involves strategic planning, technology leadership, and cross-functional collaboration to enable digital transformation and innovation.
Key Responsibilities:
Enterprise Architecture Strategy:
- Develop and maintain the organization’s enterprise architecture strategy, roadmap, and standards.
- Align architectural initiatives with business goals to support growth and operational efficiency.
Technology Leadership:
- Evaluate emerging technologies and trends to assess their potential impact on the organization.
- Provide thought leadership and guidance on IT architecture best practices and future technology directions.
Solution Design & Governance:
- Oversee the design of end-to-end IT solutions that meet business needs and technical requirements.
- Establish architecture governance frameworks and ensure adherence to standards and guidelines.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Management:
- Collaborate with business units, IT teams, and external partners to understand requirements and deliver integrated solutions.
- Communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Risk Management & Security:
- Ensure IT architecture supports cybersecurity and data protection requirements.
- Identify potential risks associated with architectural decisions and propose mitigation strategies.
Team Development & Leadership:
- Build and lead a high-performing architecture team, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
- Mentor and develop technical talent within the organization.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Proven experience in enterprise architecture, IT strategy, or a senior technical leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of cloud computing, infrastructure, application development, data management, and security.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., TOGAF, AWS, Azure, ITIL) are an advantage.
