IT Field Engineer

If so, we’re looking for a talented IT Field Engineer to join our dynamic team at our Head Office in Blackburn with site support.

The role

You’ll play a key role in Designing and installing control’s networks working closely with our Field based controls team. The purpose of this role is to assist the IT Infrastructure manager with the continual smooth running of the IT systems. You will provide technical support onsite and remotely.

Vital Energi is a leading provider of renewable energy infrastructure and systems to the public and private sectors. We are supporting Hospitals, Universities, New Build developments, Towns and Cities as well as Industrial and Commercial clients to decarbonise their buildings.

We have and continue to work on ground-breaking projects throughout the UK which are supporting the UK’s Net Zero targets, such as the recently announced £1 billion low-carbon infrastructure project for Westminster.

A few key responsibilities.

• 1st 2nd Line Troubleshooting

Reviewing tender specifications, designing basic networks.

Visiting sites across the UK, to support and install IT Infrastructure

Ownership of BMS IT Infrastructure

Liaising with 3rd party suppliers, Internal controls team and clients

Organise and schedule upgrades and maintenance without deterring others from completing their work

Technical documentation creation

Out of hours work will be required.

Education & Experience:

• Certified IT Technician would be an advantage ( Comptia A+, Network+, Security+)
• A full UK driving licence
  
  

Knowledge:

• End user compute (windows 11)
• Server Knowledge – (phone number removed)
• Firewall - Cisco Meraki, Fortinet.
• Networking knowledge - VLAN’s, VPN’s SDWAN
• Security - Key security concepts relating to Comptia Security+
• Basic Information Security Experience (1 Years)
