IT Infrastructure & Support Engineer

AGCCE currently has a vacancy for an IT Infrastructure & Support Engineer. The successful candidate will support, maintain, secure, and implement infrastructure, network, cloud, server, and SaaS services. The role holder will serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for infrastructure and provide 3rd-line support for end-user operations. This role is an on-site role, based at AGCCE's Thornton-Cleveleys site.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Support and maintain IT infrastructure, including cloud services, cloud and on-premises servers, and networking components.
• Work on cloud and on-premises network and compute infrastructure projects, as technical lead / design authority / delivery lead roles.
• Manage patching, backups, and compliance for hybrid-cloud Microsoft environment.
• Maintain and develop security solutions including perimeter security, SD-WAN and security software systems.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues across networking, security, server and end user systems.
• Monitor and optimise system performance and ensure high availability.
• Create and update technical documentation and contribute to development of IT procedures or end user training material.
• Act as a technical consultant for internal teams and stakeholders.
• Administer the O365/M365 services within the Global AGC tenant.
• Member of the IT Support Team, providing support of day-to-day operations, and end-users, and identify areas of improvement within the IT Department and its offerings.

Additional responsibilities:

• Participate in an on-call rota in both a standard and escalatory scope
• Occasional (infrequent) travel to other AGC sites may be required
• Occasional requirement to work extra hours to support upgrades or to maintain levels and provide support to end users.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Strong knowledge L2 & L3 Networking Fundamentals (e.g., Switching, Routing, Wireless, AD, DHCP, DNS).
• Experience with perimeter security solutions (e.g., Firewalls, VPN).
• Proficiency in cyber security software solutions (e.g., EDR, Zero-trust, AV, DLP, IRM).
• Expertise in cloud infrastructure (e.g., SD-WAN, Azure Networking, VMs, Service Bus).
• Experience with physical server infrastructure (e.g., OS, Services, Virtualisation, Clustering, SAN, ISCSI/FC/DAS). 
• Management & Administration of Backup and Disaster Recovery Solutions.
• M365/O365 Administrative Experience.
• Fully capable within Microsoft Ecosystem (Operating Systems, Office Systems, Business Information Systems, Business Tools).
• Experience working with ITSM Tools, including ticketing, asset management and patch management.
• Experience working on both individual and team projects.
