Job Description
The IT Operations Administrator plays a critical role in supporting the daily operations of the IT department. This position enhances the smooth orchestration of service tickets, maintains accurate and up-to-date documentation, and produces insightful reports to support decision-making and continuous improvement across IT services.
What Will I Be Doing
This role is pivotal to optimising fast-paced daily operations and presents a unique opportunity for a technically ambitious individual to broaden their expertise across various IT disciplines. As the IT Operations Administrator you will be exposed to a wide range of technologies and processes, supporting continuous learning and professional growth. Responsibilities include developing, maintaining, and updating IT operational documentation such as standard operating procedures (SOPs), runbooks, and configuration records.
You will ensure that documentation is standardised, accessible, and compliant with relevant requirements. Collaborating with technical teams to capture institutional knowledge and conduct periodic reviews to ensure documentation remains accurate and relevant, and contributing to report writing and dashboard analytics to support data-driven decision-making across the organisation.
Other Responsibilities Will Include But Not Limited To
- Generating regular and ad-hoc reports on system performance, incident trends, and service metrics,
- Analysing ticket data to identify recurring issues and recommend process improvements to IT leadership,
- Ticket Orchestration & Service Management,
- Serve as a liaison between technical teams to facilitate effective communication.
What Experience Do I Need
The ideal candidate will have proven experience in IT operations, service desk, or systems administration, along with strong proficiency in documentation tools such as SharePoint and familiarity with ITSM platforms like Freshservice, other qualifications and experience include:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- An analytical mindset and attention to detail;
- An ITIL certification or equivalent knowledge is desirable.
