The Role
The IT Manager (Arcinova) is responsible for the day-to-day operation, monitoring, and maintenance of IT services across the Alnwick and Reading sites, including both on-premise and cloud-based services. This role supports the delivery of projects and activities across ServiceDesk, Infrastructure, and Systems, and works closely with Quotient Group IT teams to develop reliable networking and support Arcinova’s future business operating model.
You’ll also contribute to ISO27001 compliance, ensure adherence to GxP guidelines, and provide technical leadership to team members while collaborating on IT strategy with senior leadership.
Main Responsibilities
- Responding to escalated IT service desk tickets and provide service desk cover during team absence or increased workload periods.
- Monitoring performance of the IT network, ensuring rapid fault diagnostics and resolution
- Ensuring Disaster Recovery processes are operating correctly, and conducting testing in accordance with documented requirements
- Maintaining IT infrastructure components and connections
- Overall responsibility for the general operation and tidiness of Comms/Server rooms, including chasing of defects with team members / other departments
- Conducting assessments of the general state of the IT Networks and Systems
- Responding to audit queries
- Ensuring that IT components/servers are up-to-date
- Working with 3rd parties and other departments / stakeholders to deliver required changes to the IT network/infrastructure
- Maintaining configuration documentation for Alnwick and Reading site IT network and systems
Additional
- Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Alnwick and Reading Site IT systems
- Support Quotient Group activities/projects and day-2-day operational needs as they impact Alnwick and/or Reading IT services and colleague experience.
- Support the current Alnwick Site IT needs and future IT planning.
- Other duties as assigned from time to time
Qualifications And Experience Required - Previous experience in 1st/2nd/3rd line IT support
- Ideally a combination of Linux and Windows Certification or 5+ years’ experience, for server and desktop operating systems.
- Demonstrable knowledge of Cloud Services (predominately AWS) networking and service offerings with a minimum of 1 years’ experience
- Solid understanding and experience of:
- General IT services and systems and how to diagnose and maintain them
- Networking hardware (firewalls, routers, switches, wifi, etc.)
- Networking principles (e.g. TCP/IP, VLANS, DHCP, DNS, VPNs, etc.)
- Server hardware and software (e.g. VMWare)
- Backup / Disaster Recovery solutions
- Microsoft Office365 platform, and Active Directory
- Telephone System/PBX support
- Familiarisation with the requirements of Validation under GxP environments
- Experience leading delivery of IT projects, and/or leading IT teams
- Evidence of supporting team members with IT training/development
