Lead Technology Integration for a Major Public Sector Digital Transformation

A key Government department are looking for an experienced technology leader to drive the seamless integration of digital infrastructure across multiple government organisations, supporting a large-scale transition into a new department.

This is a unique opportunity to work at the heart of government, influencing digital transformation at scale, and shaping the future of technology across the public sector. You’ll help align systems, platforms and people, enabling more joined-up, user-focused public services for millions of people across the UK.

You will:

• Leading the migration of technology and data from one department’s Google Workspace-based environment to a new Microsoft 365-based infrastructure.
• Providing vision and leadership for IT strategy and transition planning, embedding new ways of working that align with new departmental policies and processes.
• Managing complex dependencies and collaborating with cross-functional teams including corporate IT providers and digital delivery units.
• Working closely with senior leaders across government, regularly briefing up to Director General and Permanent Secretary level.
• Overseeing commercial relationships with suppliers and onboarding key delivery partners to support the transition.
• All teams successfully operating on a converged productivity suite with minimal disruption.
• Seamless migration of email, files and data to the new infrastructure.
• Legacy dependencies decommissioned and replaced with modern tooling.
• Governance and oversight structures in place to support sustainable digital delivery.
• An empowered, collaborative digital team culture embedded across the organisation.

The Successful Candidate:

• A track record of managing technology integrations across complex organisations - M&A or large public sector change experience is a strong plus.
• Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and brief senior leaders at Board level.
• Proven experience in shaping strategy, building strong networks, and delivering results in a high-stakes environment.
• Strong leadership with the ability to inspire teams through periods of change and transformation.
