Allen Lane are delighted to be supporting the London Borough of Newham in their search for an experienced ITSM Engineer to join their growing DDaT function on a permanent basis. This role is vital in delivering robust, efficient, and user-centred IT Service Management solutions that underpin the Council’s service delivery and transformation goals. Please note this is a hybrid role and candidates may be required on site up to 2 days per week.
As an ITSM Engineer, you will:
- Lead on the technical design, development and maintenance of ITSM platform solutions aligned with ITIL best practices.
- Configure and customise ITSM modules to support core processes such as incident, problem, and change management.
- Ensure the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) is accurately maintained and continuously updated
- Support effective IT Service Management by validating data integrity, managing configuration items (CIs)
- Collaborate with stakeholders to align the CMDB with operational and organisational needs
- Develop and maintain platform integrations with enterprise systems to streamline service operations.
- Create dashboards and reports to support data-driven decision-making and service performance monitoring.
- Deliver training and produce technical documentation to support wider platform adoption.
- Continuously improve ITSM processes through automation and platform enhancements.
As an ITSM Engineer, you must have:
- In-depth experience configuring and supporting ITSM platforms, with a strong understanding of ITIL frameworks.
- A background in technical platform development, systems integration, and workflow automation.
- Experience with scripting languages and platform security best practices.
- Strong analytical, communication and collaboration skills, with a user-focused mindset.
- An understanding of IT Security principles and controls
